First Quality is a privately-held group of manufacturing companies who are leaders in their respective field. The organization is run by hands-on owners with dynamic expansion plans to significantly increase the size of the business over the next few years.
We are looking for an experienced Director of Benefits at our Great Neck, NY office. This position will be responsible for the implementation, communication and administration of First Quality’s benefits programs, policies and procedures. Ensures programs meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements and are cost effective.
Primary responsibilities include:

-Ensuring that benefit programs support the organizations’ strategic objectives by remaining knowledgeable of the key business fundamentals of First Quality.

-Evaluating and recommending new benefit plans and/or modifications to existing plans.

-Creating and maintaining recordkeeping systems and procedures on insurance coverages, claims, 401(k) plans and personnel transactions/activities such as new hires, promotions, transfers and terminations.

-Planning and conducting new employee orientations to promote a positive attitude toward the organizations’ goals.

-Interacting with the employee relations and legal staff to ensure that programs, practices and policies comply with applicable government laws and regulations. Working closely with the Director and the management team to develop benefit plans and strategies to meet organizational requirements.

-Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of human resources and benefit concepts, practices and procedures including networking with peers, insurance brokers, and consultants.

-Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and objectives. Interacting with all levels of management.

-Assisting the Director in managing vendor relationships.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
-
-Bachelors’ degree in Business or Human Resources with CBP or CEBS preferred

-Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

-5 years of experience in a key benefit role.
-
-Must have strong business acumen with a proven track record of progressively increased Human Resource roles in manufacturing.
