Maintenance Mechanic at Westbury

Maintenance Mechanic needed to do electrical troubleshooting and repair of production machinery. This is a second shift position, from 2:30 pm until 10 pm.

 

My client is looking for a facilities maintenance mechanic to repair and maintain the production machines, laboratory equipment, and building and grounds. You should know about general physical plant structural and auxiliary equipment, such as HVAC systems, plumbing, duct work, welding and machine operations, drywall, and carpentry.

 

You should have experience with mechanical and electrical repairs, some painting, minor masonry repair, snow removal, or other grounds maintenance. Be familiar with the National Electric Code and local regulations. Be able to perform basic electrical wiring, plumbing, and carpentry, using standard hand and power tools. Work with outside contractors in some repairs, machine overhauls, or grounds maintenance.

 

I am looking for someone who is familiar with the maintenance and repair of production machinery and packaging machinery used by companies that make, for example, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, baked goods, food, cosmetics. You can have experience with non-production equipment, too, as long as you have a well-rounded facilities maintenance background.

 

This job requires at least three years of experience as a facilities maintenance technician or mechanic. You should be able to read blueprints or schematics, have good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. May be required to lift or move things that weight up to 50 pounds.
