Our client is looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented candidate who will bring a deep understanding of Android and multi-dimensional database capabilities as part of the core team.

The selected incumbent is expected to be an amazing individual contributor. Concretely, this means that in the context of a startup (small team dynamics) this role will be working on:

• Database design


• File tagging design and development


• Android design and coding


• Android interface with messaging and hosted database


• The nuts & bolts of pragmatic implementation

THE TEAM: But beyond just seeking an amazing individual contributor, even more importantly were seeking to grow a high-function team that is even stronger as a whole. The cohesion and capability of the team is paramount. As such, the selected candidate will need great interaction & influence skills in a fast-moving high-pressure environment. This candidate will also need to be confident and opinionated, but also self-aware and empathic when it matters.

Our client seeks ultimately to be a location-free startup. At this time they span across New York, and Seattle. Interaction dynamics are critical, and at this early stage some preference will be given to candidates in those areas.

Understanding of:

• SQL and schema design



• Activities vs Fragments vs Views



• Activities vs Services



• Git, Mercurial (hg), or other SCM system



• Test-driven development

Bonus Skills:

• SQLite



• Definition of a REST or other web API
