Title: Manufacturing EngineerLocation: East Aurora, NY
Duration: 6 months+
Pay rate: $40/hr DOE
Job Summary:
Define part processing methodology to produce complex machined components that meet engineering drawings. Determine metal removal manufacturing procedures and create CNC programs. Aid the design process through concurrent engineering efforts. Conduct projects to shorten lead-time, improve quality, and lower cost. Provide direct technical support to prototype and production operations to solve problems and improve processes.
Job responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control practices.
Collaborate with Design Engineers to achieve producible, manufacturable designs.
Conduct studies pertaining to manufacturing efficiency. On the basis of these studies, develop and implement plans for revisions to procedures to shorten lead time, achieve high quality, and reduce operating expenses. This includes recommending and leveraging new technology.
Write process documentation. Create cost estimates for new proposals.
Must be able to communicate effectively and work constructively with all levels of the organization to facilitate improvement of existing processes and establish new processes to realize product line strategies.
Job Requirements:
4 year degree in an engineering discipline with 3+ years of progressive experience (post education) in the field of Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
Extensive part processing knowledge. CNC Machine programming skill and experience. Proven problem solving and decision making skills.
General capabilities in CAD/CAM & LEAN manufacturing techniques.
Cost Estimating, and Vendor Development experience is a plus.
