Job Description:

Posses the ability to install all OEM (Lucent, Tyco, Emerson, PECOII, Valere, etc.) power equipment. Must have a valid drivers license and transportation. Proficient with standard software applications. Program Galaxy, Millennium, DGU & LMS/MCA controllers. Provide work assignments to crew. Complete required customer paperwork. Resolve job specification and/or drawing problems. Correct office drawings.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Install, T&TU ADTRAN 1248,TA5000 DSLAM equipment and Flashwave 4100 in both central office and OSP environments.
  • Meet or exceed IP72202 installation quality standards.
  • Complete Frontier Bar coding standards and required exceptence paperwork.
  • Perform inventory of all job related materials.
  • Locate faults and troubleshoot to clear faults to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform power verification and power up of equipment.
  • Perform acceptance checks equipment to ensure it meets customer specifications.
  • Produce test reports and and project completion paperwork.
  • Working knowledge of telephony power/common systems.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications, drawings and product manuals.
  • Able to write detailed method of procedures and job information memorandums.
  • Ability to accurately lead a job from start to finish with minimum supervision.
  • In depth understanding of advanced electricity knowledge as well as familiarity with OEM DC products.
  • Interact with customers and employees in a professional manner.
  • Comply with all EHS requirements.
  • Perform work functions within allocated budget.
  • Maintain all quality requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Job Requirements

  • 40 plus hours a week.
  • Perform shift work as required upon request.
  • Travel away from home but within the home state.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Have a minimum of 6 years experience or equivalent.
  • Has an in depth technical knowledge of current Telecom products.
  • Additional certification desired but not required.
  • Marconi Vortex, Emerson NetSure, Tyco GPS 48/48, Peco II 163, Nortel, Lucent, Argus, Eltek & Valarie DC Power Plants; UPS Systems, Wet Cell and VRLA Batteries; Main Control Bay, Supplemental PBDs, PDSC, PDU, BDFBs, Fuse Panels, Grounding (central office, MGB, Aisle grounds, equipment grounds), Rectifiers, Peco II & Argus Alpha Inverters, Converters, Hot cuts, Transitions, PMs, battery testing (load bank, Midtronics), battery charging, Test and Turn Up;
  • Installing EMT conduit, wire-mold, seal-tight and electrical panels, fixtures and wiring for PDSC and Inverter circuits.
  • Alarm Systems (Omni-pulse, LMS-1000, Smart DGU, Galaxy, Dantel, DPS,);
  • 750 MCM cable, sewing, wire wrapping, and termination, Main frame and block wiring, Iron Work (including earthquake bracing), Hilti Grid Systems, Cable Rack; raised floor environment construction and bracing;

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 80lbs.
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
