Hillside Children’s Center, an affiliate of Hillside Family of Agencies has hours for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner on our Varick campus in Romulus, NY on beautiful Seneca Lake!

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

• Analyzes and evaluates patient data, behavior or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder and to assess treatments.
• Initiates referrals for neurological and other specialist consultations including psychological testing as needed.
• Collaborates with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrist, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
• Attends and participates in staff and treatment meetings, provides consultation to the treatment team about clinical issues, and participates in agency committees or work groups as deemed appropriate.
• Communicates clearly and accurately with clients, visitors, and colleagues displaying friendly, helpful behavior.
• Uses judgment and tact especially when communicating sensitive information.
• Displays sensitivity to the needs of clients, visitors and colleagues treating everyone with consideration, courtesy and respect.
• Assists in the education of patients, family members and staff about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, or treatment plans. Provides psychopharmacology consultation and intervention, including prescription of psychotropic and relevant pediatric medications.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of prescribed medication while considering potential negative side effects.
• Completes all documentation regarding all assessments in a timely and competent manner.
• Knows and adheres to all federal, state, and local statutes, regulatory agency standards, and Hillside Family of Agency policies.

Job Requirements

Masters degree in Psychiatric Nursing required. NP licensure/certification - Licensed to practice in the State of New York. NYS Drivers License and ability to meet agency driving and insurance standards required.
