Senior Benefits Administrator at New York

Our client, a global publishing company, is looking to fill their Senior Benefits Administrator position. This person would provide support to the Benefits Director in the management of wellness plans, implement benefit process improvements and ensure integrity of benefits data

Major Responsibilities:

Consistently works to improve the benefits process using automation and employee self-service options.

Works closely with the HRIS team with automation efforts

Works closely with payroll to ensure accuracy of benefits deductions

Manage web-based open enrollment process

Provide client support when issues arise

Troubleshoot issues

Liaise with Ulitipro to address and resolve complex systems issues

Well versed and complies with Federal, State and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.

Oversees STD/FMLA and other types of leave. Manage multifaceted leave cases

Conducts New Hire benefits orientation.

Oversees the reconciliation and issuance of payment for monthly insurance bills in a timely manner

Research employee eligibility and claim issues. Resolves employee inquires and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.

Manage Workers Comp claims.

Supports managements decision making by analyzing benefit options. Administers annual Open Enrollment.

Assist in integration of employee benefit plans once a new Company has been acquired.

Liaise with outside auditors to conduct yearly audits of retirement plans. Assist in the preparation and filing of Form 5500s for all of our employee health, welfare and retirement plans.

Collect and analyze data for our group 401(k) plan non-discrimination testing as well as compile data for other various testing that is required for some of the other benefit plans.

Required Skills / Knowledge:

A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in benefit administration.

Bachelors or Masters Degree in business or Human Resources.

Advanced Excel skills are a must (pivot tables, vlookups, ect.)

Various facets in human resources with a concentration in Benefits Administration.

Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently.

Knowledgeable and familiar with ERSA, FMLA, Disability, HIPAA, Section 125 plans, Deferred Contribution plans, Companys policies, procedures and regulations regarding employee benefit issues and privacy requirements.

Strong computer skills, including Word, Outlook and HRIS database.

Sharp attention to detail. Must be able to travel occasionally; and work overtime as needed.
