Candidate will perform Estimating duties for a heavy civil construction firm located in NYC. Areas of work include Heavy highway/road building/paving, underground utilityinfrastructure projects, structural concrete, building foundations, and streetscapes.
The Estimator will review project plans, requirements and specifications. The Estimator shall perform take offs,pricing, and bidding of construction projects. The Estimator shall have extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
Determine labor and equipment costs.
Review/perform accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
Understand project logistics and project schedule.
Prepare bid packages. Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
Review quotes and estimates with the Project Management Team.
Perform certain post-bid buyouts.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Proficient with HCSS Heavy Bid
- Proficient with On-Screen Take Off
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with public bidding for agencies such as NYC MTA, NYC DDC, NYS DOT, PANYNJ, NYC EDC
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
