Senior Windows System Engineer at Long Island

Our client is seeking a Senior Windows System Engineer in Long Island City, New York (NY).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System and related technology


• Experience in deploying and managing Microsoft Windows server environment: 2003, 2008 and 2012


• Well versed in internet architecture components such as web, application and database: IIS, MS SQL Server, and ASP.Net


• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003 and 2010 design, administration, and troubleshooting for an installation with multiple database groups


• Experience in performing exchange migration from 2003 to 2010 a plus


• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure cloud services preferred


• Strong understanding TCP/IP, SNMP. SMTP, SSL, SSH, DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, LDAP and SAMBA


• Extensive experience in virtualization technology: VMware (vCenter, Vsphere 4, ESX 4, vSphere 5 and ESXI 5)


• Experience in deployment and management of complex Active Directory(AD) environment


• Deep understanding of Active DirectoryDomain Services


• Hands-on knowledge of Active Director Federation Services 2.0 (ADFS 2.0)


• Experience in deploying and managing SAN technology and product including HP 3Par, IBM and EMC


• Fundamental understanding of storage technologies as they relate to Exchange server IOrequirements


• Working knowledge of NAS and lower end storage arrays


• Good understanding of Microsoft file system


• Must have working knowledge of PowerShell and VBScript


• Ability to architect systems using clustering technology to maximize fault-tolerance


• Ability to accurately define hardware requirements for capacity management and application performance enhancement


• Knowledge of BYOD management principles preferred


• Experience with BES integration (MDM platforms a plus)


• Extensive experience in troubleshooting ActiveSync and OWA on various mobile platf

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.


• 12+ years of windows systems administration experience, with a minimum of five (5) years working in a senior engineering role


• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Server Infrastructure certification preferred private cloud or messaging is an additional plus


• VMware Certified Professional preferred


• Additional years of senior systems administration experience may be substituted for degree requirement
