Scope of Position:

Provides timely, accurate, and relevant market and customer intelligence to inform and enhance the division’s strategic, financial, and operational plans.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities

 

Track and analyze the industry in which Corning Environmental Technologies operates

  • Automotive trends, supply chain dynamics and OEM health
  • Truck and non-road vehicle demand, fleet health, truck and engine supply chain and OEM health
  • Longer term industry analysis

 

Monitor & communicate news/events and analysis of the automotive and trucking industries and after treatment market to the division

  • Maintain ongoing market intelligence process to gather market and industry information from news feeds, market reports, market research, analyst reports, trip reports, conferences and internal sources.
  • Maintain internal and external network in order to gather information and quickly respond to information and analysis requests

 

Primary deliverables include:

Deliver the global Long Term Forecast in accordance with corporate & business timelines

  • Manage the forecast development process and timeline
  • Deliver forecast, scenarios, and analysis as part of the 5 year-plan
  • Provide quarterly updates as needed for management meetings
  • Define tools/database upgrade requirements to improve forecast process efficiency

 

Deliver the monthly demand forecast

  • Compile the commercial sales forecast and analysis in support of the S&OP process
  • Prepare and present monthly forecast updates during the Demand Review
  • Drive programs/initiatives to improve demand and sales forecast accuracy
  • Work jointly with Sales & Manufacturing Planning to resolve any capacity issues.
  • Manage the Sales Budget Process

 

Complete key analyses as needed

 

Travel Requirements: Less than 20%

 Requirements

Required Education:

  • BA/BS in Engineering or Business
  • MBA or equivalent experience

 

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • 5 years experience in a B2B industry
  • Automotive, automotive supplier or environmental industries desired

 

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated track record of completing extensive analysis and data interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel
  • The ability to perform error free work
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience working with top management and leadership.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

 

Desired Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Direct account and/or product line management experience.
  • Work experience in a Strategy, forecasting or planning

 

Soft Skills:

  • Prioritize, manage and complete many tasks on time every time
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects and manage to completion.
  • Learns quickly when facing new problems and/or unfamiliar tasks.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Capable of working effectively as team member, leader and facilitator
