Job Description
In this lead role, you will report into the Global Head of Integration Engineering/Project Management Office Group within the Asset Management Infrastructure Technology division.
Integration Engineers:
Partner with the senior central IT business aligned technology leaders, to consult and advise on Infrastructure solutions
Act a single infrastructure interface to the senior business technology leaders and their organizations, understanding IT business strategy and the implications to infrastructure capabilities
Oversee all Infrastructure initiatives as they relate to the IT business unit they represent.
Understand IT business strategy and the implication to infrastructure capabilities.
Work in partnership with infrastructure engineers and architects to review business drivers and strategies, determine the impact to Asset Managements architecture and coordinate a global vision and roadmap for the business unit they represent.
Are accountable to business and technology management for ensuring seamless end-to-end design, planning, development and implementation of infrastructure solutions
Identify, assesses and document technical requirements for information/data and advise development teams on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, assist with prioritizing the development and implementation of enhancements/changes and guide capacity management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide forward thinking technical guidance in key areas such as consumption of assets, capacity planning/storage, disaster recovery, risks, single points of failure, cost reduction and strategic planning
Has an in depth technical knowledge of the current environment and a holistic view of how the business uses the environment
Work closely with the project management team to ensure seamless transition of solid requirements into projects and back out through into production post implementation
Provides Tier III technical swat team troubleshooting coordination as needed
Understands how future technology could help satisfy current and future demand
Provides design oversight to infrastructure engineers
Consults with development teams to apply AM standards and best practices that address the exchange of data between systems (MQ, Java, Informatica, etc.
Responsible for driving adoption of Infrastructure solution architectures that align with business needs, but are common across the line of business, and leverage firm-wide shared services to their fullest extent.
Partnering with architects to ensure solutions are in line with the Firm-wide Strategic Technology Roadmap.
Identifying gaps in current standards/services and work with peers ensure these are addressed by the responsible infrastructure division
Apply industry/technical knowledge to provide solutions that increase business results and/or minimize risk regarding the integration of applications across multiple product systems and delivery channels.
Ensuring all deviations are identified and approved.
Work with business IT leaders to reviews investment spend to ensure it aligns with roadmaps and target state.
Managing multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently and with other designers, project managers and SME.
Job Requirements
Strong project management and team management skills (planning, budgetary control, team building).
Excellent relationship management skills
Experience working with and implementing standards and procedures
Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in computing, development, architecture and/or client/server application integration and implementation.
Knowledge of VMWare/ESX, Windows and Linux operating systems (administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting).
Working knowledge of web, DNS, SNMP, SMTP and network appliance technologies
Experience deploying VMWare/ESX, Windows and Linux architectures.
Experience designing, deploying and troubleshooting SAN and NAS based systems and their management tools
Experience with data management, relational or object-oriented systems- desired
Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills
Strong system analytic ability and practice
Experience with successful implementations of highly scalable and highly available systems in a multi-tier environment.
Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, auditing, risk analysis.
Experience with infrastructure technologies such as TCP/IP, firewalls, packet routing/switching and load balancing.
Experience with Veritas Quick I/O, Veritas Cluster Server, Cluster file systems and Volume Manager highly - desirable.
Experience with Database Virtualization (Co-hosting and Co-locating) desirable.
The ideal candidate should have relevant financial services industry background, and be familiar with the business services and transaction types associated with Asset Management
Expert communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences that include peers, partners, and senior IT and Business management
Candidate must be comfortable leading in a fast-paced team environment, and possess very good communications skills.
Experience in making good decisions with limited information
Can lead cross-functional discussions and project reviews.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
Excellent business acumen with a strong ability to map business requirements to technical solutions.
Experience working with or working for global systems integrators or solution engineers
Demonstrated ability of quickly solving urgent performance issues and performing infrastructure and security design reviews.
College degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
