Operations Manager- Medical Devices (923) at Rochester

Our client is looking for an Operations Manager to manage and direct various aspects of the Lab, Production, Shipping/Packaging, Customer Service, Information Technology, and HR Administration. This person will initiate and implement new ideas and strategies to meet current goals and objectives, while providing a platform for the Company to excel in future ventures. Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of operations experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lab, Production, and Shipping/Packaging

  • Review weekly schedules with production floor personnel.
  • Monitor daily production and quality.
  • Monitor machine functionality and review issues.
  • Identify new ways to improve production and quality while reducing waste.
  • Identify any material deficiencies and handle with vendors.
  • Review daily production entries and transfers.
  • Update database with new items and bill of materials.
  • Work with marketing department, customers and vendors to create product packaging.
  • Process and track purchase orders for raw materials and packaging.
  • Order labels for the Company and private label products.
  • Working on project to second source multiple raw material vendors.
  • Manage the trials of new materials.
  • Oversee periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Encourage cross-training among production staff.
  • Attend conventions to obtain a better working knowledge as to how products are being used in the field.

Customer Service

  • Develop, refine, implement, train and ensure the integrity and accuracy of the policies, procedures and processes for each working area in Customer Service & Credit & Collections.
  • Monthly team training based on business need and defined by quarterly themes i.e. required in-depth presentation by team members of the products and how they are used by customers.

Safeguard corporate assets by:

  • Maximizing corporate cash flow by ensuring DSO is below industry standard.
  • Minimizing bad debt through annual credit reviews of customer accounts using trade references, banking reference and financial standings.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of the order management process while maintaining superiority service in the end-to-end support of the customer.
  • Identify order entry and shipping errors daily with a management review monthly categorizing trends.
  • Communicate regularly with each working team, including other Company offices as they relate to the strategic goals of the departments and the Company.
  • Establish annual objectives and goals for each member on at least an annual basis.

HR Administration

  • HR representative to employees on site, relaying information as appropriate to the HR Director.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are adhered to for SPS with strong support from HR Director.
  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities of the HR administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA in business/finance or equivalent.
  • 7+ years experience in a related function is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
