Job Classification: ContractMidtown location of premiere law firm is looking for a contract Legal Recruitment Manager to cover a short-term leave of absence. The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks. The focus will be on lateral attorney hiring but other responsibilities will include:
Reviewing candidate materials, candidate management/response to inquiries, collecting information from lateral candidates, coordinating the interview process (scheduling, monitoring, evaluation follow-up, etc.) and communicating with staffing agencies; Preparing and overseeing mailings and other information to follow-up with incoming candidates; Coordinating with Director of Legal Recruitment and managers in various offices as well as interfacing with other administrative departments (e.g., Human Resources, Conflicts Department) regarding completion of various recruitment-related checks (such as background checks, conflicts reports, reference checks, bar status check, etc.) and new hire-related paperwork; Scheduling and participating in all onboarding efforts for new lateral attorneys joining the firm; Working with external vendors to plan events; Working on and managing any special projects.
Prior experience doing recruiting at a law firm or professional services firm is required. Candidates must have strong familiarity with reviewing and assessing legal resumes and with recruiting software to track candidate information. The person in the role must also have strong communication skills and superior judgment as she/he will be working with highly-confidential information. The ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel and external entities is a must.
