Job Description
Acacia Network, one of the nation’s leading not for profit social services organization, is recruiting for an open Leasing Specialist position. This position is primarily responsible for the assistance to the Property Management Team in completion of multiple functions for the current portfolio. The position would entail marketing when needed, commence the initial leasing process, maintaining the vacancy level low, and providing administrative support to the Property Management Department.
- Marketing Activity – Assist when needed in the marketing process as per the property portfolio according to requirements/government eligibility criteria. The activities would entail contacting local organizations, posting notices and/or advertising and maintain the record keeping of the waiting list.
- Leasing Activity – Selecting tenants and notifying applicants of the status of their applications based on Fair Housing Laws. Deal with the prospects through the leasing process then turn over the completed package to the Property Manager to finalize. Prepare the paperwork for lease up, transfers, pre exit notification and move out process. Conduct apartment inspections for move-ins, move-outs and for Section 8 units.
- Leasing Administration – Compile and create all files and documentation. Enter new tenant information in Property Management Software (Yardi). Monitor and prepare the lease renewals prior to the expiration period. Complete certification packages along with tenant annual recertification for Tax Credit and Home programs. Maintain and provide a Status Reports as assignments are given.

Job Requirements
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
- Well versed in Tax Credit / Home programs.
- Familiar with HUD local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Strong interpersonal and business communication skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Competence with office management software
- Knowledge of financial reporting
- Duties can be subject to change and are not limited to the above by Supervisor at any time.
At least 3 years of experience working with Low Income Housing Tax Credit units
Minimum requirement Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree Preferred
