Assistant Director of Advising

NYU’s prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business seeks an Assistant Director of Advising to provide program advising for full-time and Langone MBA students. The Assistant Director will advise students on curriculum, enrollment, program requirements, scholastic standing, matriculation and academic policies. Duties may include: writing and editing school publications; maintaining the advising website; presenting program curriculum to new students; coordinating proficiency exam testing and grading for students; processing curriculum waivers; coordinating joint dual degree programs; coordinating visiting student programs; processing leaves of absence and program re-entry; tracking student matriculation and progress; processing program accelerations and semester overloads; and supervising staff. The Assistant Director will also participate in the MBA Academic Policy Board, to render decisions on student petitions to academic policy.


A Bachelors degree and 3 years experience advising students, coordinating student services or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Excellent project management, organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable managing a large amount of confidential data and working in a fast-paced professional environment. Conflict and dispute resolution skills are essential.
