The Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP) Program Manager will serve as a facility content expert for HPDP and oversee the integration of the HPDP services into patient care throughout the facility and affiliated community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). The Program Manager must be knowledgeable about HPDP as well as effective outreach methodologies and local community resources. The HPDP Manager is required to perform statistical reporting, evaluation, consultation and make data-based recommendations to local leadership. The incumbent must be an effective communicator and collaborate with non-Department of Veterans Affairs faciliteis as well as VA health care professionals and administrators. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of current VA guidelines, policies, regulations and laws including those governing medical benefits for Veterans. The incumbent must be effective in public speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals and organizations. THe HPDP Progam Manager must be capable of providing strong leadership, deomonstrate expertise in the role of administrator and program manager and be comfortable in the role of education and direct service provider.
Applicant selected for this position willbe eligible to apply for an award up to the maximum limitation ($60,000) underthe provisions of the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), subject toavailability of funding.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Back to topBASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. citizenship.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of thefollowing accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by theapplicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as agraduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., PuertoRico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. In cases ofgraduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current,full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement ofgraduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English
GRADE DETERMINATIONS:
· Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN)or Diploma in Nursing, no experience.
· Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma inNursing and approximately 1 year of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursingand a bachelors degree in a related field and no experience; or a Bachelors ofScience in Nursing (BSN) and no experience.
· Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma inNursing and approximately 2-3 years of experience, or an ADN or Diploma inNursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 yearsof experience; or a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of experience, or aMasters degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no experience.
· Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3years of experience, or ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in arelated field and approximately 2-3 years experience or a Masters degree innursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 years experience, ora Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment andhas doctoral degree in a related field with no experience.
· Nurse III - Masters degree in nursing or related field with BSNand approximately 2-3 years experience or Doctoral degree in nursing or relatedfield and approximately 2-3 years experience.
Salary Range Applicants education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel (for physicians and dentists) in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.
