Job Description
Our client, a top investment bank in NYC, is seeking a VP-Securities Services Compliance Officer.
The role will be responsible for providing direct compliance support to the firm’s Securities Services, which include Custody, Securities and Futures Clearing, Paying Agent, Securities Lending and Transfer Agent.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide daily advisory support to business management
- Implement Corporate Compliance Policies and procedures regarding customer due diligence, internal controls, reviews of advertising and marketing materials
- Conduct annual and specialized training
- Attend management meetings, contribute to new product approval committees and new customer acceptance committees and provide advice and support on matters pertaining to customer due diligence, internal control procedures, and business line risk assessments
- Conduct targeted due diligence reviews of selected customers and counter parties
- Assist management in preparation for all Internal Audit reviews, Compliance reviews and regulatory examinations
- Monitor changes in regulations and articulate the practicable implications of those changes to the business and advise management on any required changes to policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of Compliance/ Regulatory experience in a bank or broker-dealer environment
- Direct, hands-on experience in bank custody operations involving US dollar denominated securities on behalf of foreign and domestic counterparties
- Knowledge and experience with regulations covering Paying Agent activities, including trust powers and fiduciary obligations, and Transfer Agent procedures, controls and reporting requirements under S.E.C. Rule 17Ad-17
- Knowledge of agency-based Securities Lending activities on behalf of third parties and affiliates.
- Knowledge of General State and Federal banking regulations, securities laws and registration regulations and an ability to apply new regulations to business operations
- Experience with Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Dodd Frank and FATCA and their applications to wholesale banking operations
- Experience with bank examinations and a familiarity with the Board of Governors FBO Examination Manual
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability and experience in conducting training for bank staff engaged in a variety of business activities
- BA or BS
