We have a prominent client in the Rochester, NY area seeking a Senior Internal Auditor. This role will perform internal audit projects; develop the internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures and preparing internal audit reports; cover functional and operating units with a focus on Sarbanes-Oxley, financial, information technology and operational processes; direct and review the work performed by other internal audit personnel; apply knowledge of internal control concepts and experience to planning, performing, managing and reporting on the evaluation of various business processes, areas and functions; perform follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues; assist in internal audit management and the development of the annual internal audit plan.
Job Requirements
Candidates for the Senior Internal Auditor position should have five or more years of public accounting and/or private industry experience. Knowledge of accounting, finance and internal control areas is required, as is comprehension of internal auditing standards, generally accepted accounting principles, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO and risk-assessment practices. An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is required, along with a professional certification, such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified internal auditor (CIA). Candidates also should possess strong project management abilities as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Senior Internal Auditor is expected to work independently with limited direction and guidance, and interact with senior management at all levels of the organization.
