Job Description

Overview:This junior level Content Engineer / Web Developer position is a temporary position that will be responsible for assisting in the programming the bloomingdales.com user interface and ultimately contributing to a high quality customer experience on the website.Key Accountabilities:

Assist in the develop and design the presentation layer of the website, ensuring pages are programmed error-free, cross-browser, cross-platform and optimized for download performance

Stay current with the newest online technologies; research new technologies and make recommendations on implementations

Collaborate effectively with content engineering team as well as creative, marketing, merchandising and server engineering teams; provide technical advice and guidance about template design, browser limitations and technology

Skills Summary:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, IT or related field
• 1-3 years professional Internet work experience
• Experience with JSP, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and other related technologies
• Some experience with XML technologies (XSLT, XPATH, XML, etc.)
• Knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform and design constraints on the web
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and persuasion skills
• Experience with Java technologies (JSP, J2EE, Spring, Struts, Tiles, etc)
• Experience with Version Control systems (CVS, Clearcase, SourceSafe, etc)
• Working knowledge of PC, UNIX and Mac environments
