Accountant at Ballston Spa

40 Hours/Week, 52 Weeks/Year

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.  Proficiency in MS Excel. Two years (2) accounting experience required. Valid NYS Drivers license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Accountant is responsible for fiscal analysis related to the costing of Medicaid/Managed Care and the Consolidated Fiscal Report.  Responsible for maintaining records related to consumer directed supports.  Maintains all accounting records of related corporations, Disabled Citizens Development Corp, Saratoga County Community Residential Corp, and ARC Foundation of Saratoga County. This position reports directly to the Controller.


1) Performs fiscal analysis and costing of Medicaid/Managed Care information as necessary.


2) Maintains accounting records related to Consumer Support Services/Financial Management Services for consumer directed supports.


3) Maintains all Agency records related to the ISS program including but not limited to monthly billing, oversight of monthly checks, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.


4) Performs Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR) analyses as requested.


5) Maintains all books of record for Disabled Citizens Development Corp, including but not limited to, preparation of Standard Journal Entries, preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of year end audit work papers.
 
6) Maintains all books of record for Saratoga County Community Residential Project Inc, including but not limited to:  preparation of Standard Journal Entries, preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, and preparation of year end audit work papers.  Also responsible for all US Dept of Housing and Urban Development reporting, including but not limited to, monthly Housing Assistance Payments (HAP)  voucher, annual 50059s, Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) reporting, and the maintenance of the Reserve for Replacement Account and Residual Receipts Account. 


7) Maintains all books of record for The Foundation of  Saratoga County, Inc., including but not limited to, processing checks as needed, preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, and preparation of yearend audit work papers.


8) Maintains records related to the Agency fundraising account, including but not limited to, preparation of the weekly bank deposit, processing checks, preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, and preparation of year end audit work papers.


9) Perform Audits of the Residential consumers bank accounts in accordance with Personal Allowance policies.


10) Record the cash flow into the agency SS/SSI Beneficiaries bank account, calculating the monthly adjusted consumer rent amount to be transferred to the Agency General Operating Bank account.


11) Prepares billing for Agency programs as needed.


12) Assist with audit preparation as directed.


13) Performs duties of other Business Office Staff in their absence.


14) Performs all job duties in a safe manner by observing all Agency safety rules, procedures and practices.


15) Performs all other duties as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.
