Our client is looking for a Direct Marketing Account Executive who will be responsible for assisting the Account Supervisor with the execution of all client projects to which they have been assigned. The Direct Marketing Account Executive will also assist in managing all aspects of direct mail acquisition, cross-selling and winback campaigns. They will also help develop strategic creative briefs, develop testing matrices, analyze results and competitive marketplace, and assist with strategy, creative, production and the data processing departments. In addition, they will work on email acquisition campaigns and the development of collateral materials.
Generally, the Account Executive acts as the primary interface between the various agency departments and lower level client staff with regard to executing projects on a day-to-day basis. This position is instrumental in ensuring that all agency departments are updated with regard to schedules, changes/next steps and for maintaining the status of work in progress at all times during the project development process. The goal at the Account Executive level is to seek broad involvement to expand his/her knowledge base and experience in preparation for a Senior Account Executive position. The work involves development of marketing communications materials including direct mail, sales tools, collateral, and newsletters.
Responsibilities:
Function as primary liaison to clients on behalf of the agency with regard to tactical, service-related, and agency policy issues
Help client evaluate the effectiveness of developed marketing programs and determine next steps
Track financial forecasting, tracking and reporting and flag any potential projected income variance to senior management
Keep senior account management team fully informed of account activity, challenges and opportunities that arise
Work with senior account managers to define key strategic issues and their impact on client/agency objectives
Interact with relevant agency departments to clearly outline current and projected workload on a periodic basis for resource planning purposes
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of clients business and internal processes and act as an important source of key intelligence on business directions and agency role
Participate in competitive analysis projects by gathering competitive samples and conducting secondary research when needed
Communicate job status and scheduling changes to relevant departments (e.g.: Creative, Media, Technology, Production, Finance)
Assist in the approval of copy, layout/artwork, media plans and production materials and suggest revisions when necessary
Collaborate with Project Management on the development of realistic project schedules
Write conference reports, status reports and other correspondence (to be reviewed with account team prior to distribution)
Develop an understanding of the clients business/industry and how key strategic issues impact client/agency objectives
Begin to develop presentation skills by working with account team in coordinating and generating client and internal presentations
Open jobs, develop estimates, handle billing, and keep track of budgets
Requirements:
BA degree or equivalent work experience
Direct Marketing experience required (Direct mail, online tools, email marketing)
1-2 years of experience working on a direct marketing account within in an advertising agency
Ability to manage complex timelines, anticipates upcoming issues, and proactively works with senior management to resolve them
Team Player
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to coordinate a variety of projects
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Computer proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
