JOB DESCRIPTION

Wireless Network Technician

Work Hours :Flexible 7:00am to 5pm (8 hours but start time can vary) including a 1 hour lunch break / 24 x 7 on call rotation

Over Time Exemption : Exempt Status under Administrative Exemption

Travel Requirements :Local travel from site to site

Physical Strength Limitations :must be able to walk up to a mile without physical distress, climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs.

Skills :

(a) Mature, responsible self-starter with 5+ years of experience

(b) Beginning knowledge of internetworking of switches and routers

(c) Familiarity with wireless technology

(d)Basic network, IP address and PC skills

(e) Efficient work style with attention to details a must.

(f) Assist in preparing cost estimates for projects

(g) Manage inventory of wireless equipment

(h)Skill in monitoring analysis and determining appropriate actions.

(i) Basic networking skills including but not limited to ping and traceroute

(j) Strong customer service orientation.

(k) Exposure to a Help Desk or Customer Support environment with remote hardware and software support.

(l) Ability to work under pressure and within a fast-paced environment

(m)Experience with network monitoring a plus (Whats Up, Nagios, Netflow)

Language Skills : Fluent in English Required, Multilingual is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wireless Network Installer is responsible for installing, repairing and supporting our clients wireless infrastructure.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

(a) Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

(b) Support existing 802.11 infrastructure including Cisco, Proxim and Firetide

(c) Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.

(d) Must be a team player with the ability to work well with a wide variety of personalities.

(e) Wireless Engineer responsible to travel to Client sites to conduct wireless site surveys and Wi-Fi LAN installations/repairs

(f) Provide mentoring and assistance to Wireless engineers and administrators as appropriate.

(g) Prepare and maintain up-to-date and comprehensive network diagrams and documentation.

(h) Wiliness to travel to customers sites (Local travel).

(i) Assists Sales Representatives in presentations to customers.

(j) Troubleshoot, evaluate, track and manage issues and recommend best solutions while escalating to higher tiers according to EIA procedures

(k) Enter data into trouble ticketing system in an accurate and complete manner to document problems including diagnostic results and multiple product correlation as well as escalation and repair performance information.

(l) Be available in an on call capacity 24 x 7.

2. Training and Certification

(a) Completes Required Training as specified by the VP-Technology

(b) Obtains Certifications as Required.
