Mechanical Engineer Job

Lead Mechanical Engineer (Rail) for a supplier of rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure and services for a wide range of high-tech rail solutions located in Western New York State.

Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer

  • Guide and Lead Project team on US Rail Safety standards requirement.
  • Perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of a specific engineering discipline plus an understanding of related disciplines to cost-effectively achieve objectives.
  • Design, analyze, and evaluate systems, products, or components requiring a high degree of technical expertise.
  • Conduct engineering studies and prepare or lead the preparation of specifications, proposals for contracts, suppliers, and gate reviews for both internal and external presentation.

Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 years of professional engineering experience
  • Experience in high speed rail (transit, commuter, etc) required with 5 years preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience in the design of railcars.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport. This position requires up to 50%, both travel both domestic and international.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without any further action
