Overview:The 59th Street Cosmetics Events Manager is responsible for communicating a vision for events, outreach and partnerships that drive sales for each vendor. This senior manager is also responsible for helping store identify opportunities in the local community, coaching, and holding the store team accountable to realize measureable results. He/she must be extremely organized, able to think on their feet, and efficient in managing numerous tasks simultaneously. The position requires effective communication skills to interface with all levels of management, external resources and the public. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of events planning and maximizing retail sales.Essential Functions:- Communicate overall vision, expectations and goals for in-store and outside prospecting events
- Determine event goals, develop/implement strategy including goals for sales, clienteling, appointments, Items Per Transactions and Average Unit Sale
- Achieve Cosmetics Division event goal of 30% of total sales
- Coach store on proper in-store event planning, with an emphasis on results, building client relationships and increasing the reach of the Cosmetics vendors in each market
- Work with store teams to choose outside events, holding teams accountable to track results and increase market share in each trade area
- Meet with vendors to enhance events planned at corporate level. Plan additional incremental events at store level
- Develop a Beauty Studio Program that will generate incremental business by partnering with Public Relations on exploring additional event opportunities through community outreach, group events and prospecting new partnerships
- Establish guidelines for outside partnerships with local businesses and Top of the List clients, develop culture of accountability among vendors, regularly evaluating partners and refining arrangements
- Establish and gatekeeper of the Cosmetics Promotional/Events Calendar. Coordinate with the Public Relations team to appropriately advertise events using invitations, press, media, emails and online ads
- Utilize Cosmetics Event Planning and Reporting Tool to track metrics by brand
- Book events at Beauty Studio, Swing Space, Beauty Oval and outposts throughout the store
- Liase with Visual Team to ensure that all events are supported with proper visual collateral, signage and furniture where applicable
- Review freelancer coverage for each event, challenge vendors on additional support, exclusive events and Public Appearances
- Collaborate with Public Relations Team on operational set up and execution for each event by scheduling walk-throughs prior to event
- Maximize event opportunities by using the storewide promotional calendar to strategically plan events with other Family Of Businesses
- Increase event awareness throughout the store through rallies, internal networking and product knowledge seminars
- Revise and re-launch out Signature Selling Manager Moments
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience within a marketing, public relations and/or special events environment
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong negotiation and influential skills
- Independent worker, self-initiative/self-starter, resourceful and a problem solver
- Highly organized, detailed and thorough, creative and motivated, ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to build strong partnerships and manage relationships with Vendors, Store (e.g., Visual, Fragrances, At Your Service) and Central teams (e.g. Tourism)
- Ability to analyze and evaluate business performance
- Coach and develop teams to meet goals
- Retail and/or fashion background a plus
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
