Financial Services / Insurance Claims Underwriting Analytics Manager

Location: New York, Florham Park/NJ, Boston, Reston/DC, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, and San Francisco

Travel: 80% (Monday - Thursday)

Level: Senior Manager

Our client is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.

The Claims/Underwriting Analytics Manager will be part of the Financial Services, Insurance Analytics team and will be responsible for:
• Growing our business by supporting our analytics sales origination efforts at Insurance clients and prospects both directly and in support of client team efforts
• Developing and refine our Claims/Underwriting Analytics offering in collaboration with Insurance industry subject matter advisors and the Claims & Underwriting offering lead.
• Improving our Share-of-Voice by making Claims/Underwriting analytics related media and marketing contributions
• Delivering Claims/Underwriting analytics sold work to clients on a selective basis

Key Responsibilities May Include:
• Work with clients teams to identify opportunities for Claims/Underwriting Analytics offerings
• Develop account plans with the clients teams
• Develop C Level and target buyer relationships at target clients and prospects
• Support qualified sales opportunities through the sales process
• Support the preparation of sales proposals, points of view, and value proposition for each opportunity
• Facilitate the development of Claims/Underwriting Analytics related sales collateral
• Collaborate effectively with other groups within Our client such as technology growth platform, market development, research and development
• Contribute to business development and internal knowledge sharing initiatives
• Develop Claims/Underwriting analytics related bylines, advertorials, e-books, etc and work with media leads to improve Our client Analytics share-of-voice
• Deliver sold work to clients on a selective basis
• Ability to travel 100%

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 5 years management consulting experience in the Claims/Underwriting Analytics domain and/or Minimum of 9 years conducting Claims/Underwriting or related analytics in the insurance industry. This may include fraud, subrogation, litigation expense management, claims assignment, rate adequacy analytics, model development, and insight integration among others.
  • Minimum of 4 years of analytical Software tools. This may include SAS Fraud Framework, Revolution, and SPSS
  • Minimum of 4 years of strong claims/underwriting value chain knowledge and areas susceptible to improvement via analytics

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience selling/interacting with C-suite executives
  • Familiarity with data fragmentation and insight integration challenges in the Claims/Underwriting analytics space
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies and applicability to Claims/Underwriting analytics
  • Operational and functional experience in Property and Casualty Insurance with exposure to Life and Annuity Insurance
  • Experience in analytics business enablement and operational integration
  • Familiarity with leading BI/Performance Reporting Application ( BO, Cognos, Crystal, Microsoft SQL stack and more)
  • Ability to think beyond point solutions and think through end to end solution
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian

Professional Skill Requirements:

· Ability to independently manage and grow existing client engagements

· Self- starter, entrepreneurial, resource and comfortable working in a small team environment where self- sufficiency is essential

· Ability to interact effectively with senior-level client executives

· Effective team management and leadership skills
