Watson Bowman Acme, a member of BASF Construction Chemicals, is a worldwide leader in the design and supply of innovative expansion control systems servicing the bridge, stadium, parking structure, and building industries. Seeking qualified candidates to execute the following responsibilities as a member of our Bridge Maintenance technical sales team in North America

Purpose of the Job:

The Inside Technical Sales Representative serves as the primary inside point of contact for buying customers across all bridge maintenance product lines and is expected to handle many customer requirements independent of the outside sales team. Works closely with contractors, engineers, consultants and transportation owners to assess design needs and determine appropriate product offering. Jointly accountable to meet specific, quantifiable objectives related to sales from leads developed in the field. Reports directly to the National Sales Manager.

Principal Responsibilities:

Provide the best quality customer care

Develop sales opportunities in specified markets and work with field sales counterparts to manage and track project opportunities

Directly facilitate incoming customer requests for pricing, quote and scope of work deliverables associated with all bridge maintenance products

Support specific accounts that require minimal outside sales involvement.

Develop relationships with new and existing clients and provide accurate information to maximize sales volume

Follow-up on quotations and assist as necessary to help close orders

Responsible for product submittals and approvals with state agencies

Accountable for product presentations to clients via webinar or LiveMeeting


Job Requirements

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in sales, marketing, business, construction technology AND 1+ years of B2B sales experience OR If no Bachelors Degree, 3+ years construction related experience.
  • Experience in the construction industry and product sales is required.
  • Prior technical customer support on complex products preferred.
  • Manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Candidate should have a strong commitment to excel in meeting customer needs resulting in repeat business.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize situations requiring urgent attention is critical.
  • Time management and organization skills are required.
  • Demonstrated competencies in computer software. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Intermediate skills in Powerpoint, Word, LiveMeeting, Webinar, Lotus Notes preferred. Experience with smart devices a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical competencies in basic math skills. Technical aptitude with respect to contract plans and specifications a plus.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new concepts, processes and product information.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and persuasively to a high volume of people throughout the workday
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, including active listening skills with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization providing courteous, timely and accurate information.
