Our Infrastructure Division is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Structural Bridge Engineer, with excellent communication skills, for immediate employment in the New York City Office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate previous experience in Structural Engineering, specific to bridge, retaining wall, and other transportation structures. The candidate can look forward to projects including bridge inspection, analysis, and design for both new and existing bridge structures.Performing engineering inspection and design of transportation structures as part of a well-established structural engineering teamPerform inspections of existing bridge and earth retaining structures under the supervision of URS senior staff and prepare notes and reports to document the conditionsPerform or check structural analysis, including Finite Element Modeling, of existing and proposed bridge and earth retaining structures to determine member forces, stresses and, deflectionsPrepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for highway and railroad bridge and transportation structuresPerform & check load ratings of structures to determine the safe load carrying capacity of bridge and tunnel structures The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated aboveURS is a leading provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the world. Job Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering or related fieldMinimum 4 years prior work experience working for Structural Engineering Consulting firm performing design on bridge inspection and design projectsCollege coursework in Structural Analysis & Design, Pre-stressed concrete, Steel Structures, Foundation Engineering, and Soil MechanicsPrior experience using STAAD Pro 2003, SAP 2000, AutoCAD, and other structural modeling software programsExperience performing structural inspection or design for New York Metropolitan area clients such as NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NYSTA, MTA-Bridges & Tunnels, Metro-North, LIRR Valid Drivers License Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
