Role Summary/Purpose GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.The Battery Take Back Program Manager will be expected to provide strategic and operational leadership to the program. In this role you will be responsible for entail setting direction, planning and execution of individual projects, and giving direction to other functions of the business as it pertains to battery take back requirements and regulations. The Battery Take Back Program Manager will work closely with Engineering, EHS, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to oversee the take back r Essential Responsibilities In addition you will:

  • Represent Battery Take Back (BTB) during the ITO process
  • Engage with the commercial team by providing guidance related to BTB during proposal development
  • Manage investigation and obtain required approvals for placing batteries in various regions globally
  • Develop and submit required paperwork for regulatory compliance
  • Manage recycler partner evaluations and on-boarding
  • Manage hazmat waste transportation partner evaluations and on-boarding
  • Work with OTR project manager(s) to ensure BTB program requirements for new customer projects are being met
  • Report BTB program status to GEES business and GET EHS leadership

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness and ability to travel 5% of the time to recycling partner sites Qualifications/Requirements In addition you will:

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing Take Back or Hazmat Material Management from customer locations
  • Minimum of 4 years of Engineering experience (Or a minimum of 4 years of Logistics and hazardous materials experience) Desired Characteristics
  • Understanding of international battery regulations and / or understanding of hazmat waste management internationally
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed individual performance goals and ability to work with cross-functionally to achieve team objectives
  • Experience with non-US teams (African and South Asian regions)
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
  • Experience in Program management in a growing business
  • Lean, Six sigma, or equivalent problem solving expertise
  • Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
  • Ability to connect as a trusted peer at all levels of the engineering and customer service teams and with GE colleagues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Accomplishments that reflect leadership, teamwork, integrity, and accountability
  • *Masters Degree in Environmental/Industrial/Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge of global regulations and recycling around Sodium battery technology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, analyze, and interpret data
  • Knowledge of battery standards and safety procedures
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in meeting project / program goals, while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and cost requirements
  • Knowledge of engineering, and product development processes
