We are seeking Shift Supervisors for our Residential Programs in our Brooklyn and Queens locations.

Your role is key in supervising staff and consumer/participant activities in a residential setting. This position will require you to have patience, great interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate. There are full time and part time positions available. Shift Supervisors (Healthcare / Human Services / Social Services)

Job Responsibilities

The Shift Supervisors will be responsible for ensuring adequate staff coverage at all times.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Communicating medical, behavioral, facility, and staff issues to all employees and management in the residence
• Counseling, assisting and training consumers/participants with developmental disabilities in the areas of personal care, travel skills, social skills, home management, and life skills in order to maximize their functioning in the community
• Other duties as required by the program

Job Requirements

The Shift Supervisors will have a high school diploma/GED and a valid and clean New York State drivers license required. An Associates Degree is preferred.

Additional requirements include:

• Minimum two years of experience in a MR/DD environment or related field with one year in an OPWDD supervisory capacity
• AMAP, SCIP, CPR and TEACCH certification required, but will train applicants who agree to obtain certification within 90 days of position appointment
• Demonstrated competency in written, verbal and computational skills to document records in accordance with program and OPWDD mandates
