Commercial Account Manager at Maspeth

Job Description

The City of New York recently passed  Local Law 43, also known as the NYC Clean Air Act, which requires major fuel (oil)  conversions and high end commercial equipment upgrades for thousands of commercial buildings in NYC. This initiative creates a unique situation which has resulted in an outstanding career opportunity in our New York City District for a Commercial Account Manager within Petros Commercial Services Division. The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the NYC Commercial Real Estate market along with experience in networking and prospecting within this vertical. MUST have previous experience calling on medium to large businesses as well  large property management firms in NYC and the boroughs. Heating oil, Natural Gas, HVAC and Commercial Equipment Sales experience is strongly recommended. 

 

Target Earnings: $100K+ Total Compensation (Salary + Commissions)

 
Candidate will lead our daily initiative activities and work directly with the rest of our Commercial team and industry partners. This person will also work closely with our marketing team to come up with effective campaigns to create awareness and urgency within the market. The expectations will be for this role to manage the sales process for this initiative, while working directly with our technical team to facilitate the technical equipment aspects of the job.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Target new business opportunities by maximizing company marketing efforts to a specific customer target list
  • Create your own network of customers and business partners to expand potential customer base
  • Establish effective business relationships with key commercial customers to identify new revenue opportunities
  • Develop and target new business leads on an ongoing basis 
  • Position yourself as the resident "expert" on the Clean Air Act
  • Responsible for developing, promoting and implementing locally based marketing programs within territory along with regional and national marketing programs
  • Creates an effective link between the sales and operations teams
  • Identify and attend industry related trade shows and networking events

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor or Associates Degree strongly preferred
  • 5 to 7 years in professional sales capacity
  • Strong networking skills and ability to get to the decision maker
  • Excellent sales presentation skills; ability to close large B to B sales with C-level type decision makers
  • Organized and highly  motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong telephone and customer service skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, use of internet and automated prospect management systems preferred.
  • Ability to design and implement sales strategies that support overall company strategy
  • Some knowledge of commercial heating and HVAC
  • Team player
