BorgWarnerPosition Summary:
The Technical Specialist supports the identification, development and proof of concept execution of new technologies and products supporting the Morse TEC business growth objectives. This position provides an exciting environment and opportunity to develop new creative ideas and concepts enhancing the Borg Warner Morse TEC product portfolio. The incumbent will engage with global OEMs, develop industry trend data, explore creative opportunities and develop new product solutions. Industry knowledge, strong engineering principals, project team management skills and business application acumen support the development of develop new products. Typical project management team composition includes internal advanced engineering specialists, product group engineers, strategic business development analyst and sales associates.
Responsibilities:
- Project management: select development project(s)
- Customer interface: new technologies development and applications
- Industry and market trends study and research
- IP creation and management
- Technology Ideation
- Powertrain mechanical and electro-mechanical systems development
- Transition interface of project to production
Safety:
This individual promotes high standards of safety and health, which stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she is responsible for Safety Committee activities and Hazard Communication Training to ensure individual employees meet their responsibility for safety. Ensures that issues identified by Safety Committee are accurately defined and resolved in a timely manner. Ensures employees, visitors, and contractors (including subcontractors), at BorgWarner Morse TEC, adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practicesand training asoutlined in the BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual.
Job Requirements
Education:
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering
- M.S. Engineering (preferred)
Experience:
- 10 plus years in powertrain engineering, preferably automotive industry.
- Design and development of new technologies
- Project managment
