Stony Brook University Medical Center’s FSA/Department of Food and Nutritional Services seeks a creative Baker to join our team of quality-driven professionals. This position is responsible for preparation of quality food for patients/residents, faculty/staff and visitors using standardized recipes and production sheets. Adheres to HACCP guidelines to ensure efficient, safe and sanitary food production.Job Requirements
Required: AOS Culinary Arts, minimum of 5 years’ experience in high volume food preparation; ability to read, write and communicate in English; extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, mixing methods, weights & measures, and cake decorating; Serv Safe certification or same within 6 months and knowledge of HACCP procedures. Preferred: BA in Culinary Arts or related subject; professional baking experience; knowledge of modified diet principles and safe, sanitary food handling; ability to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people.
