Sales Representative - Construction Trade Sales at Hauppauge

Job Description

Sales representative job opening, in Suffolk County, with one of the countrys highest quality windows and doors manufacturers. This job covers the territory from Northport to Port Jefferson, and from Babylon to Patchogue. You will be selling well-known brand-name products to the trade to architects, contractors, and home improvement companies.

Initially, you will train in the companys area showroom, and then you will work in the field to develop accounts. It is not necessary to have experience in this type of sales - you can have experience selling office equipment, car rentals, uniform rentals.

You will be responsible for developing prospective customers, using internet research, local newspapers, and driving around. Reach out to contractors by phone and email, and set up meetings. After becoming fully knowledgeable about the industry, the products, and the competition, you will issue price quotes.

This job pays a base of $40,000 plus a very generous car allowance, benefits, laptop and cellphone. You will also earn commissions and bonuses based on sales targets. You can expect to earn about $60-65K in your first year, and more in your second year.

Job Requirements

This job requires a BA or BS degree with good grades. The client is looking for a person with 1-2 years experience in business to business sales, or people who have had 1-2 years of close on-on-one contact with customers, not necessarily in sales. This job is very definitely a sales position, and you should have an interest in building your career in outside sales. If youre a new college graduate with some serious sales experience, like gym memberships, etc., I may have something for you, too.

This job requires tremendous drive, a track record of success in school, in work, or maybe in sports. You should have a competitive nature, and a positive, upbeat attitude. You must be a master of follow-up, be very detail oriented, and be focused on providing superb customer-service. Excellent verbal, written, and up-to-the minute computer skills are expected.
