In this vital role, you will be helping participants with special needs meet their potential and live more fulfilling lives. Your team orientation, strong communication skills, and flexibility are essential to this role. Afternoon, Evening, Overnight, and Weekend only shifts are available. Direct Care Counselor (Healthcare / Human Services / Social Services)

Job Responsibilities

 

The Direct Care Counselor will be providing hand-over-hand support.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

 

• Assisting with treatment plans for consumers/participants with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
• Promoting community integration

 

Job Requirements

Direct Care Counselor (Healthcare / Human Services / Social Services)

 

Job Requirements

The Direct Care Counselor should have a background in Social Services, Human Services and/or Healthcare.

 

Additional requirements include:

 

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• A clean and valid New York State driver’s license
• Ability to obtain/maintain AMAP, SCIP and TEACCH certification
• Prior OMRDD experience, preferred
• Ability to travel to other boroughs for training
