Associate Buyer at New York

Job Description

Our client is one of the leading fashion design houses for men’s and women’s designer apparel. Currently, they are looking to hire an Associate Buyer with experience in women’s apparel from a brick and mortal retailer.

Position Overview:

The Associate Buyer will manage and support the Senior Buyer, management of the OTB, along with additional full cycle Associate Buyer responsibilities.

Responsibilities of the Associate Buyer:

• Responsible for all day to day managing, planning and execution in the department, as well as processing of all paperwork, open to buy format, orders, vendor communication
• Merchandise procurement according to appropriate quantities, time frame, and price range
• Work with cross functional teams to develop merchandise plans and assortments, reacting to trends and executing effective distribution strategies
• Support the Senior Buyer in management of the OTB
• Analyze business for future merchandise decisions
• Communication with Licensees and 3rd Party Vendors daily
• Plan and communicates marketing initiatives and floor set directions for his/her department(s)
• Visit stores to review presentation, stock content/levels, identify problems, and listen for suggestions and comments

 

Job Requirements

• 3-5 years of Buying experience in women’s apparel from a Brick and Mortar retailer
• Working knowledge of OTB management
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables)
• Women’s apparel experience from a Brick and Mortar retailer is required
