Job Description

Responsibilities: A client of Kforce is searching for an experienced SQL Database Systems Administrator to join their IT force in New York, New York (NY).Responsibilities include:

• Performing daily MS SQL database administration
• Overseeing the overall performance, tuning, and backup/recovery of databases
• Providing mission critical systems support in a 24/7 environment
• Troubleshooting and resolving database related issues
• Planning and implementing database upgrades
• Maintaining databases in high availability solutions that meet reliability and high client service level standards
• Developing and maintaining Best Practice services in support of databases
• Documenting, implementing and improving existing processes
• Performing other related functions as needed

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years in experience as a MS SQL 2008 systems database administrator
• Transactional SQL extended Stored Procedures, managing indexes, locks and DDL Admin
• High availability SQL Server solutions like SQL Server clustering, Database mirroring and Logshipping
• A Bachelors degree in IT, Engineering or a related discipline
