QA Integration tester at New York

Job Description

Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a QA Integration Tester for their New York, New York (NY) location.The scope of services to be performed by the selected individual includes:
  • Work closely under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Work closely with project managers and project team to provide testing timelines and status
  • Based on the analysis of design document and requirements create test strategy
  • Design test plans for projects and work with project teams to obtain approval
  • Work closely with project teams to understand solution requirements and generate test scripts and perform test analysis
  • Execute all functional and performance tests according to test plans and scripts, document results, and quickly identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Report the results to the management and team lead in timely matter
  • Other related development tasks in the SDLC

Job Requirements

QA Integration Tester Qualifications (required unless noted otherwise):
  • The proposed candidate is expected to possess at least 8 years of experience as a QA/Test team member
  • Previous programming experience, ability to create programs in Object Oriented Languages is a must
  • Strong knowledge and ability to create complex SQL queries and work with SQL editors
  • Fundamentals of MQ
  • Ability to work with and validate Data Dictionaries
  • Strong knowledge about XML file structure, XML schema, and XML file data validation
  • Experience in performance test of back end systems
  • Must be able to understand requirements and translate them into test cases
  • Ability to create quality assurance plans based on the analysis of design documents and requirements, Create and execute test cases, log and assign defects and keep track of the defect status
  • Hands-on experience using tools like XML Spy, PerfMon, and Test Director/Quality Center
  • Understanding of a variety of programming languages, architectures, and standards (e.g., J2EE-Java, n-tier architecture, service oriented architecture)
  • Must be able to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work independently in time sensitive environment and be fully responsible for work results
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources
