Software Engineer at New York

Responsibilities:

Lead innovation, analysis and design of major digital products in a variety of domains including media, e-commerce, data analysis and social network strategies Work with other senior development staff and the CTO to establish technology standards and best practices. Lead and contribute in development efforts in areas such as code reviews, development and testing methodology definition, and SCM and deployment strategies Contribute to establishing coding standards, refining testing strategies, selecting new frameworks and technologies Work with product managers and business stakeholders to help shape product strategy Provide mentoring to junior developers in areas of software engineering and web technologies

Requirements:

Strong background in Software Engineering with a relevant degree in the field (CS/EE)

The ability to develop and provide solutions to engineering issues up and down the stack from markup and css to integrating various database solutions (SQL and NOSQL)

Hands-on development skills across multiple languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Scala, Ruby

Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, jQuery

5+ years of development of large scale Internet-based applications

Experience with CMS solutions both commercial and open source

Experience with multiple web application frameworks such as Django, Play, Rails, ASP.MVC, node.js, Spring/Struts

Some experience with NoSQL technologies like Mongo DB, Cassandra, Riak, etc

Some experience with search technologies such as Solr or Elastic

Experience with cloud-based solutions and cloud migration History of completing complex projects on time

Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills Excellent Communication skills and ability to motivate those with whom you work
