Senior Credit Officer at New York

Job Description

Responsibilities: Our client, a large full service commercial bank is seeking a Senior Credit Officer for their New York, New York (NY) office.Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall management of the Credit Department including the development and improvement of financial and operational goals
  • Accountable for the training and development of credit staff and product education of relationship officers
  • Supervise credit analysts who are responsible for credit evaluations and ensure that all credit applications are completed and processed according to Banks Loan Policy and accepted industry practices
  • Identify potential and existing credit risks
  • Ensure that all facts relating to potential lending relationships are clearly analyzed and presented to the credit committee in accordance with the Banks policies
  • Ensure timely and accurate credit analyses to maximize the Banks return on assets and maintenance of a high quality portfolio
  • Train and assist analysts in cash flow modeling preparation, stress analysis, and risk assessment
  • Prepare staff performance appraisals
  • Supervise the mortgage and letter of credit units that provide product support to the credit department
  • Supervise senior officers responsible for risk monitoring and management

Job Requirements

Requirements:
  • MBA preferred but not required, Formal Credit Training required, proficient use of the PC and related spreadsheet software, technical knowledge required
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in credit management and risk scoring models, possess advanced analytical skills
  • Knowledge of workout situations portfolio and experience performing a wide range of complex transactions
  • Knowledge of different loan products, management supervisory skills
