Job Description
The Sr. Outside Sales Manager will drive growth through the identification of parts repair opportunities within a specific region, including proposal development to secure awards. The Sr. Outside Sales Manager will secure orders for existing and potential customers. They will also provide quotes to prospective customers and drive customer satisfaction via proactive issue resolution, future needs identification, and relationship management at all levels within the customers organization. The sales volume required for this salary grade is between $5-20 million.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly manage Inside Sales Managers
- Secure orders for existing and potential customers via personal or telephone contact.
- Secure opportunities to quote customer requirements
- Follow up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers
- Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel to include purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management and other key personnel
- Establish professional relationships with internal personnel to include sales, customer service, general managers, quality assurance, and business development
- Submit timely activity/call reports concerning customer related activities for quotes and orders
- Provide regional sales forecast and deal pipeline updates on a monthly basis
- Maintain account strategy documents
- Maintain Salesforce.com currency with respect to region and accounts
- Accomplish position objectives with minimal personal supervision from the Director of Sales
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales

- Ability to follow through

- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- 7 years sales experience required
- 3 years technical (mechanical, aerospace, fluids, or electrical engineering) experience required
- 5 years total aviation experience preferred

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Preferred: 5 years aviation experience
- Required: 7 years sales experience
- Required: Ability to follow through
- Required: Ability to interact with customers at all levels
