Job Description

The Hubbell High Voltage Test Business is composed of the Hipotronics brand in the USA, the Haefely and Tettex brands in Switzerland and the Robinson Instruments brand in the United Kingdom. These companies are all leaders in the field of high voltage test equipment and electronic instrumentation, each with 50 to 100 years of experience in laboratories, power utilities and manufacturers of transmission and distribution apparatus, substation automation, consumer electronics, aerospace and telecom equipment. We are currently recruiting for the following position:

Electrical Engineer

The primary responsibility of this position will be to work with the product manager to design, analyze, and develop new high voltage test products. The Electrical Engineer will improve and introduce new designs to optimize performance, manufacturability and cost. This includes evaluating trade-offs, justifying selections based on performance, cost, risk, and schedule. Along with supporting purchasing to identify, evaluate, and qualify new manufacturing processes and materials.Additionally the position will require interfacing with all departments of the company (purchasing, production, sales) and support transition from design concept to production.

Experience

• Masters or Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5+ years post-degree experience in high voltage, including high power and high frequency design
• Experience withmagnetics and power electronics integration very helpful
• Experience with high voltage magnetics design is a plus
• Preferred experience with software such as, AutoCAD, PSpice, Matlab, LabVIEW, and MS Office.
• Experience in transformer design and simulation.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned project goals and communicate progress to project manager.
• Collaborate with various project teams to establish requirements and schedules.
• Prepare documentation and reports for designs and/or tests performed.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact and maintain effective relationships with other employees
• Must be currently eligible for employment in the United States
